WHO IS SUPERVISION WITH LAURA FOR?
I have walked beside professionals working within Homelessness, Young Parents, Mental Health, Addictions, Youth Justice, Care and Protection and with High Complex Youth navigating the shadows of trauma and all the challenges life can bring. If your own work is intense, challenging, and at times overwhelming, I’ve stood in your shoes. My mission is to hold space for you, so you can do your best work for those who need you most.

ABOUT LAURA
Kia ora, my name is Laura. I am a registered Social Worker and whakapapa to Te Arawa, Tainui, and Tuwharetoa. Proudly, I am a mother, grandmother, sister, best friend, leader, colleague, supervisor, eternal learner, and regular participant in professional supervision. I believe supervision is not just a professional obligation it is the bridge to lifelong growth.
My leadership journey began as a teen mother facing tremendous adversity, I learned early to innovate, protect, and manifest my dreams as a pathway forward for my whānau.
I broke intergenerational cycles through education and built new paths earning a multitude of qualifications, including a Social Work degree, Postgraduate Qualification in Professional Supervision. My study range is wide from Law, Applied indigenous knowledge, Business Management, Psychology and Counselling, Adult teaching, countless workshops in Public Speaking, Suicide Prevention, Grief, Workplace Wellbeing, Emotional Intelligence, Wahine Leadership and much more.
Education opened many doors, lived experience built my foundation and drive.
A core part of my social work career has been leading high risk complex youth and our staff. Monitoring the journey of our youth learning new skills to sustain a healthy life that they can sustain independently, without crime. Conducting assessments, progress and court, exit reports, providing supervision, interviewing and recruitment, navigating high risk prevention measures, goal setting, advocating in court and in family group conferences, facilitating meetings, leading whakatau/poroporoaki, transition planning, teaching living skills, reconnection to the community , whānau and connecting to lots of wrap around support.
I am a passionate advocate for historical and intergenerational change, driven by lived experience, education, and always following the quote ''anything is possible when you set your mind to it'' thriving in your healing and succeeding at what you chose to become.
Supervision is your ‘time out’ to reflect, recentre, and regather supporting you to lead with clarity and confidence, develop plans for the challenges you’re facing, and celebrate every win along the way.
